In those awkward transitional years, Jarrett continued to create characters. He also spent a good amount of time copying pictures of Batman, Ninja Turtles, and Bart Simpson.
In 9th grade, Jarrett saw his work in actual print for the first time when he was published through an editorial cartoon contest hosted by the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.
